Julie Young is a visual artist from Indianapolis, IN. Coming from a heavily creative family full of musicians and painters, she has devoted her life to creating and sharing passions with others. Her works of art emerge to our visual realm to enlighten the hearts of others using bright colors, crisp lines, and whimsical flowing designs to represent the world around and within us all. With a current focus in acrylics painting on canvas, Julie also creates sculptures, illustrations, murals, and installation artwork.
Julie gets her inspiration for her artwork from her friends, family, and experiences around her combined with a strong and flowing imagination. She often uses a whimsical and vibrant style to emit stories of places within her imagination. With a passion for learning about metaphysics, extraterrestrial phenomenon, self-balance/ self-care and meditation, and world religions Julie's work often has a mystical or another worldly look to it, yet still whimsical and pleasant to the eye.
After years of sharing her art with others, she has learned that it is just as important to share how to create artwork as it is to share her own artwork. This world is in need of more beauty, happiness, and positivity and Julie plans to inspire everyone she interacts with to create something of their own to bring into our world. In 2015 Julie has taught watercolor classes to senior citizens in nursing homes, painting classes at Painting With a Twist, and art workshops at Garfield Park Art Center located in Indianapolis. She is currently running her own face painting and balloon company, Imagination Jubilation, in Indianapolis.
Her artwork has been displayed in many galleries around Indianapolis such as The Harrison Center for the Arts, The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, The Primary Colors Gallery, and many more. Young has also been live painting at concert venues and music festivals since 2012 such as The Vogue, The Murat Theater, Resonance Music and Arts Festival, The Werk Out, Hyperion, and many more. Never limiting her artwork to a specific area or artist, Young plans to extend her outreach to others across the globe during her life to inspire others to create, learn, and grow.
